MEDIUM MAGAZINE’s History

MEDIUM MAGAZINE began publishing print editions in 1987 about all Communication Science related topics. Since then, MEDIUM has evolved with the introduction of its own website in 2010 followed by the discontinuation of print editions in 2017. In 2016, the College of Communication opened applications for the first class of the International track, which influenced MEDIUM’s constitution. This shift allowed us to welcome students from all over the world and increasingly publish articles both in English and Dutch. As of 2020, MEDIUM is run by a group of over 40 students from all over the world which makes each and every one of our pieces rich with a distinct perspective.

If you would like to see print editions, then please come visit the office of Study Association Mercurius at the UvA Roeterseiland campus.

Study Association Mercurius and MEDIUM

Mercurius is the study association for Bachelor, Minor, Pre-Master, and Master Communication Science students at the University of Amsterdam. Mercurius represents the interests of students and organizes a broad range of activities. In order to provide students with a platform in which they can form and develop their journalistic and content-creations skills, Mercurius has MEDIUM as one of its committees. MEDIUM possesses editorial independence. However, as part of Mercurius, we also reflect on the values of our study association.

Over MEDIUM
